Commotion at Howling Hill: how to dispatch a comrade when there's no NPC

Can't find anyone to talk to for Commotion at Howling Hill's dispatch step? It's started from the world map, not from an NPC. Here's how.

Quests · Updated

Steps

  1. Open the world map. Open the map rather than looking for an NPC in the world. There's no one to talk to for this step.
  2. Select the Howling Hill camp icon. Find the Howling Hill camp symbol on the map and move your cursor onto it.
  3. Open the camp's options. Press Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox while the camp is highlighted. On keyboard, use the key the map prompt shows for that action.
  4. Choose the mission. Pick the Commotion at Howling Hill mission from the list to send your comrade out.

The problem: the Commotion at Howling Hill quest asks you to dispatch a comrade, but there’s no NPC nearby to talk to and no clear prompt for how to do it.

What fixed it: comrade dispatches like this one are started from the map. Select the Howling Hill camp on the world map, open its options and pick the mission there. The player who asked confirmed this worked (and called it “very unintuitive”, which is fair).

Good to know

  • If the camp’s options don’t list the mission, check that you’ve picked up the quest and that the camp icon you chose is the Howling Hill one.
